Full Version: Anybody Up For A Summer Skin Challenge?

Mochalolita
Sooooo, I've seen a couple of posts where ladies want to get their skin right for summer, since it's right around the corner.

I know that I want to be on point when it's time to show a bit more skin...I'm not looking for perfection (but I wouldn't be mad if I got it!), but just healthier, glowing, makeup-optional skin.

So who's in with me? I'm thinking that we can start on March 1st and go through the beginning of June.

Maybe post up what you're looking to accomplish, what you'll be doing, and updates along the way?

Fabulous! So we're good with officially starting on March 2nd? Don't forget to post up your goals and progress updates!

Goals-

I really want that all over, even toned, glowing, healthy looking skin. In terms of specific areas, I want my knees and elbows to be smooth, my stretch marks to be faded, and my face to be clear enough to be makeup optional.

What I'll Do-

Body-
I use an exfoliating brush daily, but I'm really bad with moisturizing and such. So I'll continue with the exfoliation and get back on my EVOO/Lemon Juice aftewards. Twice a day.

Face-
My skin has been doing really well in terms of not having any breakouts since I got back on the OCM. I'll keep using a combo of castor/EVOO to wash, followed up by my witch hazel/aspirin/vitamin C toner and DDF/ascorbyl palmitate twice a day. I'll do an aspirin mask a couple of times a week, more if needed, and a facial bi-weekly.

Knees/Elbows-
Start back doing my TCA peels on those areas...weekly until they smooth back out. I'm anticipating that should be good within a month. Focus on exfoliating and moisturizing those areas as well.

Stretch Marks- Do the exfoliating stretch mark removal method. I know that can take a while to show drastic results, but I'm going to stick with it for as long as it takes.

Also, I'm going to start exercising, eating more good foods, and I'm back to drinking my gallon of water daily. I'll also start on the Kombucha tea once I get it. And NO SMOKING (my skin looks so much better without that, lol) Those should help as well smile.gif

It probably sounds involved, but the entire daily face thing takes maybe 15 minutes, and the other stuff is a part of my usual shower time or can be done on the weekends. So I don't think it's a stretch to get it all done and stick to it over time.

Happy glowing, ladies!

Goal: nice, even toned, clear glowing skin

Face:

Wash with Mary Kay soap only in the evenings or to take off make up. Use Ziana and Klaron every other night (rx topical meds). Followed by Mary Kay moisturizer.
Rinse with warm water in the morning and warm white washcloth. Apply Mary Kay moisturizer.
Aztec Indian Mask twice a week.

Shoulder, back and chest:

Wash with Head and Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo to keep the body acne at bay and clear up any dark marks. Follow up by klaron lotion. I will do this everytime I take a shower. Which is always twice a day.

Lower Legs:

I am having issues with eczema, which leads to marks because I scratch something terrible......so wash with head and shoulders dandruff shampoo. Followed by coco butter lotion and aveeno anti itch cream.

These are the only areas im concerned with right now blush.gif
losscandalous
I also take the following vitamins.....

100mg b complex
probiotic
zinc 30mg
multi vitamin

I'll join!

Face- Maintain it's clearness, and add that sexy glow...basically just keep on top of my regime.

Body- Exfoliate daily with brush or glove, scrub once a week with a sugar scrub and use Origins Modern Friction for the body for maintenance(GET THIS if you want even skin...try it out and the counter and see the difference). I basically want buttery, soft, smooth skin that's even toned.

Knees/Elbows- The usual lemon regime.

Stretch Marks- I hope to FINALLY try the Jean Wu method.

Feet- Keep them soft and smooth and ready for the world and tan them this year!

Mocha is your bath brush a bristle one with wooden handles or plastic based?
Mochalolita
It's the bristle one with a wood handle smile.gif One side is the brush, the other side is the massager.

Thanx!
Mochalolita
Sooo, how are we doing?

I was going along well until my trip...major setback. I dunno if it was stress, or the time thing, different water, but all hell has broken out.

My skin definitely isn't as clear as it was before I left...

I'll be doing some hardcore cleansing and treating for the next few days...hopefully it won't take long to bounce back.
Dion
My face has a 'glow'
but thats pretty much it
I've been using a Vitamin E capsule off & on
for my dark spots
I'm noticing a little difference
Pink Hibiscus
I have 2 goals:

Tea instead of coffee
and keeping hands away from face

I've been slacking but I'm getting back to a steady routine now.

Mine did not. Are you using a different facecloth for each wash? I bought a handful from K-Mart so I could afford to use each one just once. I wash them at the end of the week on the hottest cycle my washer has (Sanitary Cycle) and add bleach for good measure.

If you don't wear makeup, you could also try the plain lukewarm water using facecloth regimen. I have been doing that more lately and just punctuating it every now and then with the OCM and today a coworker who hadn't seen me all last week coz she was on leave surprised me by telling me that my face looks so smooth and even--and that's with me slacking on my water intake! I hope I don't take that as a license to keep on slacking. ninja.gif

I would join the Summer Skin Challenge but I'm just so lazy. I can't even stick to just taking my vitamins daily for health. dry.gif

How are we doing?

I'm back on my daily routine, and I can already see the turnaround.

Breakouts are pretty much gone, and I'm getting brighter. Good stuff!
elemental
Recommend a good peel for me.
Mochalolita
Whatcha trying to do Ellie?

The only peels that I've had any experience with was glycolic (didn't do anything) and TCA (loved it, but find it hard to use now because of the peeling and the fact that I'm in the public a lot).

If I had to go with either for home use, it would be the TCA. I can't remember what website I got it from, but they had a ton of stuff on there, and the woman was awesome about recommendations and whatnot. I'll see if I can find it for you.

ETA: I remembered as soon as I hit the search button...it's www.perfectcomplexion.net smile.gif

Thanx for the advice... I do need to buy new washclothes.. I think it might also be the water here... Im in college and the water in the dorms suck... my skin always looks better when i go home over breaks vs. when im here at school ...

I'm going to start incorporating weekly or bi-weekly facials into my regimen as well.

I honestly don't know what happened on the west coast to make my skin revolt this way.

I made an appointment for an acne facial on Sunday to get all the gunk out and start from scratch.

Also have to stock up on washcloths so I can use a fresh one each day.

I obviously got a problem with blocked pores and bacteria, so hopefully this will help me out a bit.

Still been too lazy to get back on my lemon juice and EVOO, but I'm motivated again, lol...
elemental
I need to get on the ball. I ordered that TCA Latte stuff.

I know a lot of people swore by that El smile.gif Lemme know how it works for you!

Strongly considering ordering a bluelight...we shall see...
